Our 20 x 18 x 1000mm Mandrel Wound Carbon Tubing is manufactured using a carefully engineered combination of unidirectional (UD) carbon fiber and woven carbon fiber fabrics. The multi-layer carbon fiber construction is precisely wrapped around a mandrel and cured to produce a lightweight, rigid, and durable composite tube with excellent mechanical performance.
The combination of unidirectional and woven carbon fiber provides a balanced reinforcement structure. The unidirectional carbon fibers are primarily oriented along the length of the tube to deliver high longitudinal tensile and compressive strength, while the woven carbon fiber layers provide additional multidirectional reinforcement and help improve the tube's resistance to transverse and torsional loads.
With a 20mm outer dimension, 18mm inner dimension, and 1000mm length, the tube offers a lightweight structural solution for applications where high strength and stiffness are required without the additional weight associated with conventional metal tubing. The mandrel winding process also allows the wall construction and fiber orientation to be carefully controlled for consistent quality and reliable performance.
