Carbon Fiber Rolling Wrapped Tube Poles Description:

A roll-wrapped carbon tube is manufactured by wrapping unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg tape around a mandrel with the majority, but not all, of the carbon fiber running longitudinally. This type of construction offers a higher strength-to-weight ratio than is available in pultruded tubes. Typically used where thin-walled, lightweight tubes are required to provide additional torsional stiffness and high strength.

This carbon fiber tube uses high strength unidirectional equivalent carbon fiber core with an epoxy resin system to ensure a strong rigid tube that will meet your needs. In addition to this high-strength uni core, this tube is finished with a beautiful 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber and then given a gloss finish. Due to raw material constraints, it is hard to create pipes exactly at a specific measurement unless they are built over-sized and machined down so that is why our pipes may be a few thousandths off from the ideal measurement we are trying to match.

LIJIN’s Carbon Fiber Uni Roll Wrapped Tubing is manufactured by wrapping carbon fiber unidirectional prepreg tape onto a mandrel in multiple layers and orientations and cured at high temperatures and pressure.

The unidirectional layers are oriented in a 0/90 degree orientation with the majority of the fibers positioned in the longitudinal access. Fibers oriented at 90 degrees (hoop) are wrapped around the circumference to provide high crushing strength and stiffness. The fibers that run along the length, in the 0-degree direction, provide high bending strength and stiffness. This type of construction offers a high stiffness to weight ratio tube with increased bending stiffness and axial strength, a high crush resistance, and tight inner diameter (ID) tolerances.

All of our roll wrapped tubes feature a slight rib texture spiraling along their length where shrink-tape has been used in the manufacturing process. If need be, this can easily be sanded and polished away.
