Carbon Fibre Tube Descriptions:
Carbon fibers or carbon fibres (alternatively CF, graphite fiber or graphite fibre) are fibers about 5 to 10 micrometers (0.00020–0.00039 in) in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. Carbon fibers have several advantages including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight to strength ratio, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion. These properties have made carbon fiber very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. However, they are relatively expensive when compared with similar fibers, such as glass fiber, basalt fibers, or plastic fibers.
Carbon fibre paddle deliver excellent tensile strength characteristics compared to conventional structural metals (such as steel, aluminum and stainless steel), and are the first choice in a variety of performance applications.
Our composite tubes are manufactured through roll wrapping, pultrusion, or filament winding processes in the most popular composite materials such as 100% carbon fiber, fiberglass, and hybrid carbon fiber.
This carbon fibre tube is manufactured from alternating layers of unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre for maximum strength with the final layer swapped for 2/2 twill, 3k woven carbon fibre so that the tube has the classic appearance of woven carbon fibre (exactly the same as our carbon fibre sheets for example). This means that although the tubes are designed for demanding mechanical applications, they also look fantastic, adding a cutting-edge carbon fibre appearance to any application.
To achieve a smooth, glossy appearance the tubes are surface ground, lacquered (with high-gloss UV resistant lacquer), and then polished. The end result is a carbon fibre tube of unrivaled visual appearance making it ideally suited for use in applications where it will be seen.

Types of Carbon Fiber Tubes
Standard Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (SM)
This is the most common grade of carbon fiber used for our carbon fiber tubes. Standard modulus offers excellent strength and stiffness. It is 1.5X stiffer than aluminum and is the most economical grade.
Intermediate Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (IM)
This grade of tubing offers enhanced stiffness over standard modulus carbon fiber tubing with the same or better strength. Intermediate modulus is approximately two times stiffer than aluminum tubing.
High Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (HM)
At three times stiffer than aluminum (or equivalent to steel stiffness), this grade of tubing has very similar strength to standard modulus carbon fiber tubing. It is an excellent choice for demanding, weight sensitive applications.
Ultra-High Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (UHM)
Incredible stiffness at four-five times that of aluminum or 1.5 times that of steel. Ultra-high modulus has lower strength and is not recommended for high stress applications.
