FAQ:

 

1. What kind of finish is available for carbon fiber sheets? Are carbon fiber sheets with a matt finish available?

 

At this moment only carbon fiber sheets with a gloss finish are available. We can supply a matt finish for larger wholesale orders.

 

2. Do you supply carbon fiber sheets of thickness customized to individual needs? And what accuracy can your company guarantee?

 

Our standard carbon fiber sheets are manufactured with accuracy up to ~ + 0.2mm, which means that a sheet 1.5mm thick may have a thickness within the range of 1.5-1.7mm. Upon request, we provide cutting of carbon fiber sheets to the required thickness with an accuracy of 0.05mm.

 

3. Do you supply unidirectional carbon fiber sheets or biaxial and triaxial carbon fiber sheets?

 

We supply carbon fiber sheets with 2/2 (twill) or 1/1 (plain) weave but upon request, we also supply unidirectional carbon fiber (UD) or biaxial and triaxial carbon fiber sheets.

 

4. Are carbon fiber sheets of the quasi-isotropic type available?

 

We supply carbon fiber sheets with layers oriented at 0/90 degrees, but upon request, we also supply carbon fiber sheets with layers oriented at 0/90/-45/+45 degrees namely quasi-isotropic carbon fiber sheets.

 

5. What is the thermal resistance of carbon fiber sheets?

 

Carbon fiber sheets offer thermal resistance of up to 70oC. Upon request, we also supply carbon fiber sheets with thermal resistance up to 150oC.

 

6. How can I cut carbon fiber sheets in my workshop?

 

The carbon fiber plates we make are easy to process. They do not flatten when milling on a CNC machine, and the edges are sharp and nice. The carbon plates we make can also be easily machined with household tools such as an angle grinder, drill, file, sandpaper, etc.

 

7. Can carbon fiber sheets be painted?

 

Actually, any further treatment depends on the intended use. All supplied carbon fiber sheets (and ones made from epoxy resin) offer resistance to UV. However in the case of long duration or repeated exposure to sunshine (UV radiation) it is recommended to apply a layer of clear top coat (e.g. Polyurethane and Acrylic based) on the outer side of the carbon fiber sheet to ensure total protection against UV radiation.
